Q1: Can I apply for multiple posts under CRE-5?

Yes. You can apply for multiple posts, but you must submit a separate application form and pay the individual application fee for each separate post group.

Q2: Is the application fee refundable?

No, the fee is non-refundable. However, for SC and ST candidates who actually appear for the Computer Based Test (CBT), the application fee will be refunded to their source account after the declaration of results.

Q3: What is the negative marking scheme in the CBT?

There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. Since each question carries 4 marks, the penalty is equivalent to one-fourth (1/4th) of the question’s marks.

Q4: What is the format of the exam?

The exam is an online Computer Based Test (CBT) of 90 minutes containing 100 questions. It is divided into 5 sequential sections of 20 questions each, with a lock-in time of 18 minutes per section. Once a section closes, you cannot go back to it.

Q5: What are the qualifying marks for the CBT?

The minimum qualifying percentage is 40% for UR/EWS categories, 35% for OBC, and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD categories.

Q6: By when do I need to submit the NOC if I am a government employee?

Government or PSU employees must submit/upload their self-attested No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the portal on or before 6 July 2026.
